The multi-lingual third member of The Boycott Deathtrap was born in the early hours of July 15th 1985. He remembers it well, and when he arrived, his first conversation was with the doctor, who, it turned out, also came from a uterus, which was an amazing coincidence.
After his birth, he began to grow, which did alarm him at first but he did get over it.
At the age of three, he'd had enough of rules and regulations and, his thirst for rebellion fired up after he ran away from his family at Dobwall's adventure park in Cornwall, began to experiment with drugs such as cocaine, ecstacy, smack and Calpol.
By the age of 5 he had calmed down and was back on the wagon, holding down a full time career at Moat Hall Primary School.
It was here his love of comedy was started. After six years at the Moat, he wrote and previewed a live comedy show involving satirising the methods and media presence of Mr Motivator (popular at the time). However, the show was deemed too risky and so he was not allowed to perform the show. This would happen a few times in his long life.
At the age of 11, he moved jobs to Great Wyrley High School, where he was voted 10th sexiest male in 8W1 out of the ten males in the class.
Off the back of this victory, he began writing another live show with his writing colleague Dave J Harper. However, the show was not allowed to be performed after its previews on the grounds of it being too racist, sexist, homophobic and too long.
This deterred him not one bit. He continued writing, but, after 10 years clean and sober, he began to dabble in drugs again, and was off the wagon for 3 months, when all he watched was re-runs of 'Columbo'.
The year later, he and Harper formed The D Team, which is now known as The Boycott Deathtrap.
Stokes continues to contribute to the Deathtrap and is now happily married to his therapist. He is located most of the time in Bangor, Gwynedd in North Wales, but he does have to keep on the move. Which is why he does not own a cheque book.
